Default GAL take over from Serco in Abu Dhabi

Serco has lost the contract to GAL in Abu Dhabi.

The includes OMAA, OMAL and OMAD airports.

I hear salaries are about the same but substantially less leave with the GAL contract. (Serco 56 days leave per year, GAL 30)

Initially everyone thought the current Serco ATCO's at these stations were safe and would be automatically offered an ATCO position with GAL.

Doesnt seem to be the case as some serco ATCO's have been told they would not be offered employment with GAL. Serco not helping either so time to return to their home countries.

Ooops

No idea when they will be hiring again. From what I hear they brought in some Swedish controllers (as GAL has partnered with a Swedish ATC company) that are busy being trained.

If they didnt take on ALL the previous Serco controllers, they obviously feel they not short staffed and dont need any more especially with them bringing their own Swedes along.
